At least two people were killed and 14 wounded in a shooting outside the Club Blu nightclub in Fort Myers, Florida early on Monday, NBC reported, citing police.

Officers said gunshots were fired in the club’s parking lot, wounding “at least 14-16 people”, with their injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.

NBC said a person of interest was detained at another location five blocks away, where more shots were fired lightly injuring another person.

Detectives had yet to determine a motive for the shooting at the nightclub, which was reportedly hosting a teen party at the time.

It comes a month after a massacre at a nightclub in the Florida city of Orlando, in which a lone gunman killed 49 people in the deadliest mass shooting in recent US history.
